Perhaps it is best to choose the path that is more achievable. Deciding to kill all of the Null, or to inflict them with the parasite virus, is only worthwhile if it is possible. Neither of those options seem quite that simple to this unit.

This unit will not let the Null kill you.
The Null will not respond to pleas. The other null operate on logic and facts, and all logic points to eliminating a threat to our species.
The parasites already are aware of this. This is why they flee.
